together, we are
We aim to build a global community of changemakers who empower young women from underserved communities through meaningful mentorship, opening doors to professional and personal success.
Did you know?
Women are 50% more likely to reach leadership with early career mentorship.
Our Why
Education alone isn’t enough. Many young women face challenges transitioning from school to the workforce. Mentorship bridges this gap by providing career guidance, skill-building, and professional networks that help them thrive.
Our structured mentorship program matches young women in Kenya with professionals from around the world. Together, we foster growth, leadership, and lasting impact.
A Purposeful Journey
In 2019, our founder, Michelle Sutter, began sponsoring the university education of a young woman in Kenya named Marslider. They exchanged letters and built a meaningful connection rooted in encouragement and shared stories.
For her graduation, Michelle flew to Kenya to surprise her. Watching Marslider cross the stage was unforgettable—education had opened a door, but without networks or career support, her next steps remained uncertain.
Michelle knew the story couldn’t end there. She founded the Opening Doors Foundation to ensure women like Marslider have the mentorship, guidance, and connections they need to build meaningful careers.
Today, Marslider is a founding team member, helping build a program for others walking the same path.
impact
Mentorship helps women gain employment and grow in their careers. Yet in Kenya, many young female graduates remain unemployed due to lack of access to mentorship, networks, and support.
Become a Mentor
Mentorship is about sharing your insights and experiences to help a young woman step into her future with confidence. As a mentor, you’ll offer guidance, build connection, and open doors to opportunity.
Partner With Us
We partner with thought leaders, businesses, and organizations committed to creating meaningful impact. We're looking for guest speakers, internship and job placement partners, and sponsors to help grow our programs for young women in Kenya.
Together, we can open doors that change lives.
